Castle Combe is one of England’s prettiest villages. Not much evidence remains for the castle which once stood there - only earthworks on higher ground above the village! Originally a British hill fort, the spot was later taken over by the Romans, and then enlarged into a castle by the Normans.

The beauty of the village owes much to the ‘By Brook’ river, which in the Middle Ages had the practical purpose of providing power for the booming wool industry. It has been wonderfully depicted in the jigsaw design!

This 1000 piece puzzle was painted by the talented artist Terry Harrison.
