Twelve New Jigsaw Puzzles!

Twelve New Jigsaw Puzzles!
Posted on

Every Spring, we release new products and despite current affairs, 2020 is no different. So please find details of our new releases below.

Following the success of our best-selling game Mind the Gap, we have extended our licence with TfL and have four new London themed jigsaw puzzles.

Additionally, we have partnered with Rebel Girls, the award-winning brand behind the internationally bestselling book series, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, which has sold 4.5 million copies and been translated into nearly 50 languages. We’re delighted to introduce two jigsaw puzzles (100 piece and 500 piece) that appeal to girls, teens and young women alike. Each product will make full use of the rich Rebel Girls style guide, which focuses on positive, empowering messaging and bold designs.

Finally, we have six new traditional 1000 piece and 500 piece puzzles by talented artists including Steve Read, Steve Crisp and Nicolas Trudgian.

Life on the Farm is a 1000pc puzzle painted by the talent Kevin Walsh, who is known for his nostalgic scenes. It’s a busy afternoon at the farm and as the cows are brought in for milking, Paul and Anne watch the piglets play around in the mud.

Kestrel at Hartlepool is our new 500pc design which is set in the early 1960s. Painted by David Noble, this wonderful scene shows the Peppercorn class A1 pacific 'Kestrel' as it leaves Hartlepool

This 1000 piece puzzle depicts Norwich Market, an outdoor market consisting of around 200 stalls in central Norwich, England. Founded in the latter part of the 11th century to supply Norman merchants and settlers moving to the area following the Norman conquest of England, it has been in operation on the present site for over 900 years. Steve Crisp has captured the hubbub of the market stalls today in Market Day, Norwich, with the famous Norwich Castle standing proudly in the background.

Steve Crisp has also created Albert Dock, Liverpool. Originally designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick, the dock and the warehouse buildings were opened in 1846. It was known simply as the Albert Dock until 2018 when it was granted a royal charter and had the honorific "Royal" added to its name.

Artist Steve Read has the incredible ability to capture our favourite pets in the most humorous manner, and this is brilliantly executed in Abbey's Antique Shop! When Abbey adopted Ralph the tabby cat, she expected help with her Antique Shop’s rodent problem. What she didn’t realise was the pre-loved cushions in the shop window make the perfect place for an afternoon nap, especially when the sun is streaming through the window panel!

Road to Dunkirk is a powerful 1000 piece puzzle showing the scenes of 19th of May 1940. In this puzzle, Nicolas Trudgian offers a brilliantly evocative portrayal of the war-torn French countryside. The Dunkirk evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo and the Miracle of Dunkirk, was the evacuation of Allied soldiers during World War II from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk, in the north of France between 26 May and 4 June 1940.

As with all Gibsons jigsaws, we use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market.

We’ve made some positive changes to our processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know that they are kinder to the environment.  Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but we’ve used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce our plastic waste. There is a gloss coating on the box for extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils. Because the box is slightly smaller than our previous designs, we need less room to transport our products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. We have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.

This lines will be available to order from 29th April.

My sister and myself love your puzzles and have been doing them for years but I do get disappointed when i find a lot of your 1000 piece puzzles are not in the 500 format. We only do 500 piece puzzles is this something that will happen now your new machinery is up and running.
