Q1. Hi! Congratulations on being part of our jigsaw puzzle, Every Piece Of You! This 1000 piece puzzle is filled with magical and diverse human beings, including you! Can You describe the character that Katie has created for you?
The character is very unique and catered for myself uniquely. It has and reflects my personality as well as what I love.
Q2. How do you know Katie, and how did you end up in our jigsaw puzzle?
I met Katie through my amazing mental health mentor and she advised that it would be good to get into contact with Katie, and getting involved in this creative puzzle which was being made.
Q3. Please can you share which 'Sparkly and Weird' parts of yourself you used to hold back?
My anxiety has a massive knock on affect on the way I dressed and styled my hair, as well as keeping the fact that I kept my pet rabbit hidden, because it would fit in with the typical 'masculine standards'. And the geeky side of myself which I learned to embrace during the process.
Q4. How did you learn to embrace them?
Through my mental health mentor, time and patience and learning a technique that helped me to conquer it and embrace my true self, no matter how weird I am or may look or feel.
Q5. We are hugely proud of this puzzle and think the message is so important. Do you have any advice for people who are struggling to celebrate every part of themselves?
To never be scared to embrace yourself, because every part of you us unique and deserves equal recognition! It may seem hard in the beginning, but it will get easier, just try not to shy away from it.
Q6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just to say I'm grateful to be a part of something amazing, and this processes helped me a lot to realise a lot about myself and to celebrate my uniqueness.
