Posted on

On 6th February 2022, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when she was just 25 years old.

In celebration of this historic occasion, we are launching three new royal-themed jigsaw puzzles.

Jubilee Puzzles

Our Glorious Queen

This popular jigsaw - full of royal smiles - has been reissued to rejoice at her extraordinary seventy-year reign.   As the longest serving British head of state and the world's oldest reigning monarch, our amazing Queen is possibly the most photographed person in history. In this jigsaw we see her many expressions - regal, joyful, intrigued, thoughtful, happy... and glorious. This 1000-piece puzzle has been created by the talented Robert Opie.

London Calling

London is one of the world's most iconic travel destinations. It has something for everyone from history to culture, art to architecture. Visitors to London enjoy an abundance of galleries, museums and popular tourist attractions such as the London Eye and Buckingham Palace, interspersed between beautiful parks and open spaces.

The city is immersed in history and tourists all over the world come to discover the narrow little lanes and ancient Inns alongside impressive buildings such as Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. At its heart is the River Thames, on whose path you will find Greenwich, The London Eye and Hampton Court Palace.

Beautiful Britain

From the highlands and islands of Scotland, the emerald isle of Northern Ireland, the valleys and choirs of Wales to England’s green and pleasant lands, Britain truly is blessed. Artist Maria Rabinsky has adorned the British Isles with a beautiful assortment of iconic and characterful images that will be familiar to many of us.

Puzzling with Gibsons

With all Gibsons jigsaws, we use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one – we hope she’ll like our Jubilee jigsaws!

We’ve made some positive changes to our processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know that they are kinder to the environment. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but we’ve used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce our plastic waste. There is a gloss coating on the box for extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils.

Because the box is slightly smaller than our previous designs, we need less room to transport our products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. We have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.
