Entertaining Generations for 100 years!

It's our birthday!

Today marks 100 years since our company founder, Harry Percy Gibson, launched H P Gibson & Sons Ltd on the 15th May 1919.

Originally, we sold the ‘HPG’ brand of indoor games such as L’Attaque and Dover Patrol, which were huge sellers before and after the Second World War. To mark the centenary, we have re-released an extra-special version of L’Attaque which has been carefully recreated to mimic the 1940s version of the game.

We launched jigsaw puzzles in the 1980s and the business has grown from strength to strength ever since. The company entered its fourth generation in 2016 when our founder’s great-granddaughters, Kate Gibson and Nicki Gumbrell stepped up to become Gibsons’ Managing Director and Sales Director and the company’s first female leaders.

Kate Gibson states, ‘We are extremely fortunate to have such a rich heritage; it is a big part of who we are today. Behind Gibsons is a strong and supportive team, many of whom have been a part of our company for decades and are the reason for our success.’

‘2019 is a year of celebration and I want to thank all of our dedicated and loyal customers for their support over the decades. My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who has worked with us and had been part of our story so far.’

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their support, from jigsaw puzzlers, to suppliers, retailers and warehouse partners and everyone in between. We work hard all year to create extra-special products and 2019 is no different. From a brand-new children’s range, to new contemporary jigsaw designs, our 2019 range is crammed full of fantastic puzzles, games and gifts.
