Celebrate National Read a Book Day with Gibsons

Books flipped open on a table with light coming through the pages.
Posted on

It's National Read a Book Day on the 6th of September 2022 - a day that focuses on bringing new worlds to life and encourages us to put down our phones and turn the pages for a while instead.

It is a great way to get your head down in a book for a while, get lost in words, re-ignite an old hobby of yours or start a new one. It is also a day that encourages people to dedicate more of their spare time to reading a book regularly.

So, why not join the team at Gibson's in celebrating this year’s National Read a Book Day?

How to Celebrate National Read a Book Day 2022

Whilst reading a book on National Read a Book Day is expected, there are also other ways to celebrate the day - especially if you are someone who already reads often.

An oldie but a goodie

You could re-read a book you enjoyed or pick out sections that make you feel a certain way. You could even share some of your favourite passages with your friends, family or online!

Inspire the younger generation

If you are a parent, carer or teacher, you can dedicate time within the day to read a book with your child/children or classroom of children.

Donate to a good cause

If you have a collection of books that you have read before, lost interest in, or perhaps a long-forgotten book from your childhood, you could donate these books to a children’s school library or charity.

A treat for all senses

Of course, there is another way in which you can enjoy books. If you have access to a smartphone, tablet or eReader (like a Nook), then you can scroll endlessly through the pages with audiobooks.

Share your stories

Do you find that you are somewhat of an author? Perhaps it is time for you to share your story online on social media with friends and family or possibly enter a novel competition to see if your work can become published!
