Celebrate 160 Years of the London Underground with our new Jigsaw Puzzles!
Posted on

Did you know the London Underground is 160 years old? The first station opened on 10 January 1863, which took commuters from Paddington and Farringdon.

TfL have released a special roundel to commemorate this momentous anniversary.

To celebrate, we've launched a new edition of our Transport for London puzzles, which now feature the brand new Elizabeth Line.

Available as a 500 and 1000 piece puzzle, the jigsaws feature the iconic modern day London Underground tube map, which was first designed in 1931 by Henry C Beck and based on circuit diagrams he drew for his day job as an engineer. The sprawling transport system has 270 stations and is made from 250 miles (400 km) of track. No other city is as recognised by its transport system as London. Its red buses, black cabs and Tube trains are known around the world.

I had completed the original underground puzzle and couldn’t resist upgrading to the new puzzle with the addition of the Elizabeth Line. Thoroughly enjoyed it again but just one note of concern. The small poster/map needs to be enhanced. The print is very small and difficult to read and my eyesight is not too bad. Others with poorer sight would find it difficult.
