Steep Hill
1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

$22.00
Description

Celebrating Britain’s best streets Steep Hill, Lincoln, was named Britain’s Best Place by the Academy of Urbanism in 2011. As the name suggests, the street has a notably steep gradient. It was originally built by the Romans to connect the growing parts of Lincoln, but Steep Hill has come a long way since then. Today, it is a popular bustling tourist street, lined with independent shops, tea rooms and pubs. The entrance to Lincoln Cathedral lies at the top of the hill and the impressive structure can you seen as you ascend the steep climb.

As with all Gibsons jigsaws, we use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one.

We’ve made some positive changes to our processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know they are kinder to the environment. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but we’ve used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap, reducing our plastic waste. We use vegetable-based inks too. The gloss coating on the box gives extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils. Because the box is slightly smaller than our previous designs, we need less room to transport our products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily.

We have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.

About the artist Steve Crisp

Steve Crisp was educated around the late seventies at St. Martins School of Art, London and at a time when many young students were graduating from college with new styles and ideas. He is a fine example of someone who has gone on from that period to become a well-established, internationally known, award winning illustrator.

He has a large and diverse catalogue of work especially from the eighties and nineties, many of which have become collector’s pieces.

Steve has managed to adapt well to the changing needs of illustration especially with the introduction of digital techniques ten years or so ago.
